The leaves are changing, it’s sunny, but cool and everything starts to bring us together as families – with Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner.

Brides choose such lovely bridesmaid dresses in awesome autumn colours. One of my daugthers got married in October and chose a fabulously lush cherry red for her bridesmaid dresses – so stunning!

The most stressful thing for a bride is finding Cheap Wedding Dresses with Latest Styles.

Now, I found a website today, zmnm.com (not sure what that stands for, but anyway)…

They specialize in the newest wedding dress styles on the market, but at discount prices. They have some really gorgeous dresses!!!

Now, guess how much this wedding gown costs…I nearly fell off my chair – it’s only £96 – that’s approximately $157.00 USD! That’s unbelievable!!!

It looks like it just came off the catwalk in Milan – beautiful!

That’s not all they sell there, but it got me thinking about fall weddings. They also sell great quality, discount priced golf clubs (yes, golf clubs), jewelry, shoes, bags, clothes, furniture and paintings! Eclectic, but great prices.

It’s a great online store for beauty, fashion and elegance…

I love trimming the tree with gorgeous, Victorian-style ornaments in all pink, of course.

I put candle lights in every window and get out my Nativity Sets.

A few years back, my son-in-law and daughter picked out one of the most beautiful nativities I’ve seen and I proudly display it on my sideboard in the diningroom for Christmas.

I have two lighted reindeers that move for outide, but what I would really love now is a Nativity Scene for my front lawn.

Jesus is the reason for the season and every chance I get I display angels, baby Jesus and crosses at Christmas.

What a beautiful sentiment to be able to share with your neighborhood and passers by a beautiful recreation of what happened that night in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago that changed the world forever.

I always find it so tranquil, peaceful and comforting in knowing God, Jesus & the Holy Spirit are there for you.

A nativity scene always makes the Holidays more special, meaningful and festive, to me anyway.

It makes me want to play hymns on the piano or bake cookies or listen to a beautiful choir on my CD player sing.

The Nativity reminds me of my childhood when my father would read us the scriptures out of the Bible on Christmas Eve that depicted this glorious event, complete with angels, a stable, 3 wise men, and the Christmas star.  It fills my heart with joy and thankfulness.

I was looking around for a great place to purchase a Nativity set and found Outdora.com. They have illuminated sets that I just loved, and they have free shipping! The photo just above is the one I have my eye on, but in the 6 piece version.

It gives a warm, tinted glow and is 6 pieces – Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus and the 3 wise men.

You can also purchase separate pieces like a sheep, ox, shepherd or angel by itself to add on.

I like to plan ahead of time and organize everything in my head before I start decorating because I like things to be “different” every year in many ways, but there are those traditional staples you absolutely must have when it comes to Christmas and a nativity is one of them.

So many thoughts go through your head watching this video…

I wanted to post this video because every child deserves a mother and a father – it took 2 to make this child.

I’m not condemning, or picking on anyone – this situation “is what it is”.

This Danish woman is very courageous because I’m sure she is embarrassed and upset at what people will think. She’s willing to tell the world what happened and is willing to sacrfice her pride for the love of her child.

If you have any information about this situation, email this woman or email the man she is looking for.

A child is a miracle from heaven.

As the years roll on, you have to get more and more advanced art supplies, calculators, binders and the like, and as they age, they want to choose their stuff more and more – Gone are the days of choosing all those cute, little pink bunnies and sparkles!

However…when they are young, you get to pick all of that cute stuff that they’ll love.

My daughter told me about a place called PosyLane.com where you can get a lot of personalized and customizable gifts – i.e. monogrammed, embroidered, etc.

I went to look at their site today and it is as great as Kimberly says!

If you’re in need of an insulated lunch tote – you’re in luck! Plus, they’re adorable.

Now, if you are a regular reader of my blog, you know I love sparkly things! LOL…

Also, I don’t know about you, but when my kids were young, I didn’t like them using “communal” things at school like nap mats, helmets for sports or anything like that…So, for those of you out there who are like me, check out these “too cute” nap mats for kids:

I’d never heard of this brand name before – it’s from “Oh Mint”! Yes, my favorite color is pink – as if you didn’t already know – and yes, I love animal prints too!

Friendship Poems 5 – Grandma’s Cookin’

Who is she? Grandma is any senior citizen you choose to call grandma or big ma ma. Grandma was the elderly woman that served as a surrogate while you were away in college. She looked out for you when you were just starting out on your own.

Actually, grandma never stopped looking out for you. In comparison, the price of an airline ticket may be cheap, but grandma’s home cooked meals are priceless. The love that goes into the preparation of grandma’s meals is something that money cannot buy.

Since you can never repay grandma, one way to thank her is to write a poem. Make sure to type the words on quality paper, then put the poem in a frame. A poem is something she can keep and cherish forever. You can add your title to the list of “Grandma’s Cookin” poems.

Sample Poem:

Grandma’s Cookin’

We travel from the east, west, north, and south for her special recipes cooked with plenty of love. We change our hearts to be more loving, forgiving, and kind to one another after one of her talks. She teaches us lessons from above, then gives us a piece of that delicious buttermilk biscuit.

I can hear her now saying

“Have some home made butter with those biscuits”

and eat more if you can

“Have some home made jelly and apple jam”

Boy are you going to be good, she asks?

All I can say is “Yes Ma’am.”

I can hear Grandma now as she cries out from the kitchen while making her peach cobbler, “Get me a little of this and a pinch of that.” This is how she measures her love, the unconditional part she throws in free cause that comes from above.

In Grandma’s kitchen we sit around and clown

No time while visiting her to show a frown

We tell our stories sitting in circles

We tell our problems to family who care

We tell our friend stop by anytime,

sit down, and have a meal if you dare

Firstly, let’s get acquainted.

I am a widow whose husband and sister succumbed to cancer over the past few years.

I live in my own home which keeps me quite occupied. Here I live with my sweet little dogs Precious (a miniature schnauzer) and Sugar (a rescued westie and poodle cross breed).

Since I am also a cancer survivor, my children check up on me very often. My family loves me, I know, but they also think I need looking after, and even though I don’t always feel that I really need their concerns, I am honored and blessed to have them.

Sometimes, my daughter Kimberly and her husband from Texas stay for visits with their beautiful and lovable dogs Kaptain, Kurious and Knosey (all miniature schnauzers).

My other daughter Lisa lives about 14 minutes away with her husband and my two wonderful grandddaughters.

My stepdaughter Tanya lives a couple of hours away with my 3 lovely step-granddaughters.

How wonderful it is to know how very much they all love me. God has been so very good to me!

Well, my children tell me that I have many things to share with the world. Can you believe it – as adults, they all actually believe that I have knowledge and that I’m smart!! Since that’s the case, I guess I have a duty to share!!!

* For instance, last week while I was wearing a new white top, I happened to stray into my garden (just to pull a few weeds and see how things were going with my flowers). You know I can’t go outdoors without getting involved in weeding and dead heading.

The beautiful tiger and stargazer lilies are in full bloom and they were fairly bursting with the most intoxicating perfume and pollen, which firmly and quickly attached itself to the front and side of my perfect, white top. You know, the one white top that you feel you can wear anywhere, anytime. I could have cried!

How did I clean it? Firstly, making sure to be out of the view of my neighbours, I took off the top, very carefully, making sure not to press the pollen into the fibers. Then, I shook of as much pollen as I could.

I turned the top inside out and ran the affected area under the hottest water tap so the pollen stain could flow away from the fabric. Then, I poured a good portion of 90% alcohol (a weaker strength won’t work), over the stain (from the wrong side of the fabric), and just let it sit in the alcohol for about 5 minutes.

Then, I used my laundry detergent on the stain, without rubbing too hard, and voila, my top was as clean as new and it is still uniformly, beautifully white and wearable.

So, if you happen to stroll through your lily field where the pollen is ready to attack and stain your clothing, don’t despair, just use my suggestion and enjoy wearing your summer whites.

Time for my dogs to get a little treat now! Till tomorrow, I am…
