Outdoor Lighting Creates Your House’s Ambiance

At night time, the decorative lighting you have can really showcase your home and make it look like the castle it is. Not only will it light up the way when you come home or are going to and from your vehicle in the driveway, but it can also be made to create an ambiance that makes the nightlife more fun, more peaceful and even more festive for Holiday seasons. Aren’t these amazing? These would love marvelous outside of my daughter’s new home – maybe around their pool… What I absolutely love is the wide variety of solar lighting now [ ... ]

Handicapped Wheelchairs are Inaccessible in Stores: Problems & Solutions

I am very upset… …at the inaccessibility of handicapped wheelchairs in stores. Problems: 1. You have to make your way over to a service desk to obtain a key to use the chair. 2. When you’re done with the chair, you have to return it back to the place where you got it from and walk to key back to the service desk. 3. Most of the wheelchairs are in atrocious condition. The leather seats are cracked. The armrests catch your clothing. They’re very dirty. Many of them make as much noise as a lawnmower. 4. The aisles [ ... ]

Oversized Christmas Ornaments are So Fun!

I’ve been trying to figure out just how I’d like to decorate our yard this year for Christmas. Have you seen those beautiful, large Christmas ornaments available now? How fun are these? I guess you’d need a very large tree to hang them in, if you wanted to hang them… …but I think they’d look absoutely phenomenal if you bunched them together at different, strategic angles on your lawn, maybe at different levels of your landscaping. How lovely would that look? I think that woud be perfect for our front lawn as we have a few different levels of our [ ... ]

A Tragic Love Affair: Anna Karenina

I’ve read this beautifully written novel by Tolstoy and enjoyed every moment of it… I wasn’t able to put it down to eat and sleep – it was so entrancing. The beautiful Anna, who finally finds love in the arms of Count Vronski, after living so many years in a loveless, expressionless marriage, becomes a victim of the chauvinistic separation & divorce laws which force her to give up her son in order to experience the comfort of her love. Having been exiled to live in Spain, she longed for her Russian homeland and her [ ... ]

Social Networking for Foodies…

My daughter, Kimberly, showed me a really interesting foodie website today that just launched called FoodConnect.com. (Just when I thought I got the hang of Facebook, here’s yet another social networking site…LOL) I checked it out and even I found it easy to navigate…You can look through numerous recipes that sound “to-die-for”… (The Balsamic Roast Beef recipe looks unbelievable!) …not to mention the restaurant reviews from all over the globe…So, when you’re traveling, you don’t have to necessarily take a chance on eating at a restaurant that you won’t enjoy, or at least know what you’re getting into… What I really liked was [ ... ]

Our Car Broke Down…

My daughter, Lisa, and I went to take our dogs to the dog groomer the other day and we had 5 dogs in the car (between my dogs and Kim‘s). We dropped them off and were on our way to do a little bit of shopping and run some errands. We got 5 minutes down the street and my car broke down…it said – Shut Engine Off Immediately! Apparently, I have a problem with an oil pressure valve or something like that. Thank goodness it didn’t happen before Do you enjoy [ ... ]
